Petra Coveney

Petra Coveney is a BWY yoga teacher and trainer, and the founder of Menopause Yoga™ (2013) classes and courses to help women through the menopause. 

Menopause Yoga aims to Educate women to feel Empowered so that they can Embrace their menopause an opportunity for self-empowerment, health and healing. 

The MY practice brings together western medical science and the wisdom of eastern wellbeing to support women on their journey from perimenopause to menopause and into post-menopause, which is framed as a Second Spring.

She runs a BWY accredited 30 Hour Module in Menopause Yoga and a one-day CPD course in Menopause Awareness and has trained about 400 teachers in 20 countries.

In 2021, Petra’s guide book for teachers, ‘Menopause Yoga – A Holistic Guide To Supporting Women on Their Menopause Journey,’ was published by Singing Dragon Books.

Menopause Yoga founder and author Petra Coveney gives a short talk on hot flushes from an east-west perspective and guides you through some simple techniques for cooling and calming.

C2 Menopause Anxiety & Overwhelm – Talk and Practice
Date: Friday 29 Apr 2022 Time: 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Menopause Yoga founder and author Petra Coveney gives a talk on the causes of menopause anxiety and overwhelm, and guides you through a short practice with simple techniques to alleviate these symptoms.

The session will end with restorative poses and meditation.

H4 Second Spring - Strength And Empowerment In Post Menopause
Date: Saturday 30 Apr 2022 Time: 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

This session will be a 30-minute talk followed by a 30-45-minute dynamic Hatha practice with some standing poses held for 10-30 seconds to build bone density, muscle strength and heart health.

This is to support women’s long term health risks that include osteopenia, sarcopenia, cardio vascular disease and depression. 

The session will end with restorative poses and meditation.
