Lucy Croucher

Lucy’s greatest loves are movement, sound and trees. She is a Shamanic practitioner and Medicine Singer and teaches yoga and qigong. As well as volunteering with BWY she is also a Woodland Trust volunteer, guiding walks in her local woods around Harrogate and giving away trees at events such as the Great Yorkshire Show and Countryfile Live. In her spare time she helps her husband plant and nurture trees on their land and seeks out the songs of the earth. She also runs Well House Yoga Space, a peaceful place just outside Harrogate surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

Session

D6 Taoist Healing Sounds & Bija Mantras
Date: Friday 29 Apr 2022 Time: 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Traditional Chinese Medicine uses the concept of Yin and Yang.

There are 5 Yin organs which have associated Yang organs and meridians (energy channels). Each of these Yin organs is associated with a healing sound which loosens the organ, releasing its negative aspects and allowing in the opposite positive aspects. There is evidence to suggest that these sounds can remove inflammation and stress. We will explore these healing sounds with gentle Qigong movements.

In yoga, the chakras are energy vortices within the subtle body. Each of the chakras is associated with emotional and physical aspects of our being. We will be exploring the main chakras using the Bija Mantras with visualisation.

A brief explanation about the practices will be provided but the focus will be on the practices themselves.

All you need are props to make yourself comfortable and your voice to make sounds.
