Ruth White

In her teens Ruth had chronic back trouble and was booked to have a plaster cast immobilising the back for 3 months.

It happened that BKS Iyengar was visiting London. Ruth watched his demonstration at the Barbican. “It was amazing” and afterwards she attended classes with him.

He showed her how to be free of pain and to strengthen the area.

She was so inspired that she followed BKS to Poona, India where she trained with him.

Ruth practices the 8 limbs of yoga. Her classes and talks include the spiritual side of yoga. Her talks are a practical experience with audience participation.
