Wendy has been practising yoga since 1979, when she discovered pranayama as a cure for hepatitis (carelessly picked up in Pakistan en route to India).
Inspired by regular study with BKS Iyengar and family in Pune, she started teaching yoga on a Hong Kong beach.
Pregnancy introduced a more organic approach to her practice. She has always been attracted to yoga philosophy and the disentangling of the many threads of the yoga tradition.
Wendy is a DCT and specialises in pregnancy yoga.
Her latest book: Integrating Philosophy into Yoga Teaching and Practice, is published by Singing Dragon (August 21st, 2020).
A session focussed on picking out the highlights of the origins of Yoga: from the mysterious Vedas to the forest ascetics, she will take some of the threads of our understanding and present them in a manner which enables participants to explore the sources which contributed to Patanjali's `classical' Yoga system. Wendy encourages each student to work according to their own lights, with autonomy and sensitivity.
