I am passionate about the many ways yoga can support people through the challenges that life can throw at us all. Having turned 50 during lockdown I realised I was beginning to experience menopausal symptoms and wondered if yoga had anything to offer.
Research led to finding Petra Coveney's Menopause Yoga (MY) Teacher Training course, which was incredibly helpful for my own self-care but also being able to share MY with other women.
I am continuing my studies in January 2021 with more MY training with Birthlight, so will there will be plenty to share and experience at Sangha.
Menopause is something all women will go through, and yoga can offer a variety of techniques to support women through this transitional time, and into the years beyond menopause. Yoga can ease many of the menopausal symptoms – anxiety, hot flushes, insomnia etc. This class will involve a women’s circle to share experiences; asana based on hatha, yin and restorative yoga; pranayama and yoga nidra.
