Qigong Seasonal Workshop: The Energies of Spring into Summer (ZOOM)

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, each season of the year represents an expression of energy and a specific element. Spring and summer are a time of increasing yang energy: trees coming into leaf, flowers bloom, more light and an increase in energy. As we shift from spring to summer, we move from the element of Wood towards the element of Fire.

In this workshop we’ll explore gentle flowing, standing movements, seated meditations, and visualisations. There will be sections of practice and movement, and sections of listening and discussion with Q & A.

You will learn:

  • The ancient Chinese perspective on spring /summer and wood/fire energies
  • Movements which cultivate and balance these elemental energies in your body and organs
  • How these energies relate to particular emotions, phases of life, sounds and even flavours
  • Ways of honouring this seasonal shift in your life and relationships
  • A simple, wood to fire focused sequence to practice at home
  • A closing relaxation to integrate
  • Q&A

Please note this is a hybrid session taught in-person and also via Zoom.

Please bring

1x Bolster, 2x blankets 1x yoga mat, notepad and pen
