Dharana is the 6th limb of the 8-fold path of Patanjali Yoga. Withdrawing from external sensory perception, the mind is integrated and aware of its own true nature. This is the inner realm of the Heart.
Love and compassion are innate; they only need to be given the opportunity for expression. Attention in the Heart focuses on the Heart Centre and our emotional landscape, as a way of deepening our meditation practice. Through heart centred practice, visualization, mantra chanting, and meditation practice, we will open our heart to intuition and insight and deepen our understanding of the Inner Witness.
Working on heart-centred practices has the potential to lead one to a state of deep relaxation, expanded awareness and inner stability.
